Hello List, Does anyone have any particulars about a Thomas HAYLES 1847 who married Elizabeth HAYLES 1750 in 1772 in Shalfleet? Known children of this couple are Benjamin 1744 and Ann 1781, both born in Shalfleet. Ann HAYLES 1781 apparently also had a half brother, a William Hayles who is named as having given consent to her marriage by Licence on 11 June 1798 in Shalfleet to one John Barnes [See Ancestry Com. records]. The above William ? 1773 must therefore be the son of Thomas by a different marriage. I am hoping that the William abt. 1773 who consented to Ann's marriage is the elusive ancestor I have been seeking. Hoping someone has a connection to any of the above. From, Joan Myers
