According to an old news clipping describing the marriage of my uncle Harold Robert MOSS at Wembley in 1916, he had until then resided at "Heilbron", Cowes. He was born in South Africa in 1894. Would "Heilbron" have been the name of a farm, perhaps? Harold's mother Bridget MOSS (nee BRENNAN)- my grandmother - is recorded as being buried at Belmont, Cowes in October 1924. Is (was) there a cemetery named Belmont? I know that Bridget Moss (widowed during the Boer War) lived in Totland 1906 to 1911 but could have been there for some years before or after that period. I could not find any record of this branch of the MOSS family in the 1901 census. My aunt, Annabel May MOSS ( b.1891) married Percy W.J. Etherington of Portsmouth in the R. C. church at Newport in 1910. At the same church my uncle, Albert Stanley MOSS married Constance G. WEBB in August 1919. Has anyone got a lead ? In well over a year I have made no progress and any help would be appreciated. Terence
