Thank-you to all those who pointed out that `Washbourne' is in fact West Cowes. A subscriber has confirmed that the firm was called Redferns. Does anyone know of any IOW archive or library that might have information on this firm - I gather they were in a big way and led the field in making `casual' clothing for smart women - or as casual as Victorian ladies were allowed to be!
