They also list a marriage of William LANE and Elizabeth H. WARNE in 1863 at Register Office or Nonconformist/RC Church. I suggest you look up the marriage and William's birth at www.1837online.com and order the certificates. Janet/Gill Since Janet has already found a possible birth and marriage from the IOWFHS web site, I suggest it would be easier, cheaper (and usually much quicker) and less error-prone, for Gill who lives in North Wales, to obtain certificates direct from the IOW Registrar (avoids any possible transcription problems and also there is a ready made application form available on the IOWFHS site. Although I use 1837 & FreeBMD to obtain references for non-Island events, they contain nothing that is not already available on the excellent IOWFHS database (except GRO references which are of no use to the IOW Registrar). The only drawback that I know of is that they are not bale to provide this service to our overseas friends (but if anyone knows different I would be happy to be corrected).
