Many thanks Judith   Judith - I have Edward James DAY, b abt 1800, Brading, d bef 1841 .  This is a surname in my SHAW line.  Edward James  m (date unknown) Sarah KEMP    They had sons James Edward and Henry H, b 1827, daughters Jane b 1830 and Mary Ann b 1833.  Notes relating to the 1841 census: Edward (James) DAY died before 1841, when Sarah KEMP DAY is described as an Innkeeper and living at the "Bugle Inn" with her children James Edward & Henry H. (both b 1827), Jane (b 1830) and Mary Ann (b 1833) living with he r. (Jane KEMP, aged 50, described as 'independent' was also living there - perhaps an older sister of Sarah?)
