    3. Judith posted: Hi Looking for any info on James Day born c1772 Brading, son of Robert I think. Would like details on marriages and births if at all possible. His first wife died and he remarried in Southampton, so Im particularly interested in his first wife and any children of that marriage. Many thanks Judith   Judith - I have Edward James DAY, b abt 1800, Brading, d bef 1841 .  This is a surname in my SHAW line.  Edward James  m (date unknown) Sarah KEMP    They had sons James Edward and Henry H, b 1827, daughters Jane b 1830 and Mary Ann b 1833.  Notes relating to the 1841 census: Edward (James) DAY died before 1841, when Sarah KEMP DAY is described as an Innkeeper and living at the "Bugle Inn" with her children James Edward & Henry H. (both b 1827), Jane (b 1830) and Mary Ann (b 1833) living with he r. (Jane KEMP, aged 50, described as 'independent' was also living there - perhaps an older sister of Sarah?) The Bugle is still there in Brading, and continues as a pub today.  I have more if you are interested, including Day family members in New Zealand, with whom my brother and his wife have stayed.   Sharon Austin MURSELL, REED, SAVAGE & SHAW
