Thanks to all those who have given me advice. The Isle of Wight seems particularly difficult to search on Ancestry since there is no "Isle of Wight" county and "Hampshire" does not seem to turn up the Isle of Wight entries. The BMD section on the Isle of Wight Family History site was particularly useful as there is information there on location. My relatives seem to have been non-conformists living in Ryde. Regards Peter
