It is quite possible for example that he had originally inherited the money and having enough to live on wasn't making his living only by making shoes. I thought of this because I am in a similiar situation. I have more than enough money to live on from an inheritence that my father left me however being idle drives me crazy so I sell Avon and have a hypnotherapy business just so I will have something to do to keep me buzy and to keep me out amongst others.
