Hi All I am new to this list having just found a sliver of the brick wall I am trying to crack. Hopefully someone on this list can help me. I am looking for my GGG Grandfather, John Matthias Jones born abt 1809. According to his marriage certificate he was born in Carmarthen Wales but there is no record of this as yet. He married Ann Maria Allchin in London in 1846 and had 2 children - Ann Maria born 1846 and Christopher Thomas born 1847. There is no record of the family in the 1851 census. In the 1861 census Ann and her daughter Ann are listed as living with Ann's father at his pub in London. John & Christopher are boarding in London. After that there are no records of John or Christopher until Christopher shows up in Australia in 1879. I have just located a John Matthias Jones on the FreeBMD and am awaiting the death certificate from the GRO, but am hoping that someone may know of him and if he may have divorced Ann and remarried.
