This isn't related to the IOW but I am hoping someone can help me. One of my ancestors in Norfolk died in 1630 leaving a will , he left 5 blocks of houses in Great Yarmouth to his children and 7 different people got 40 shillings as did the local hospital , the poor of the parish and the local church. Now a cousin of mine thinks he may have been a shoemaker, I have never come across a shoemaker that wealthy .. so yes or no ? Could it be done then ?
