Thankyou to everyone who replied to my email enquiries. I now have a direction to head in. Jon Baker: John Matthias died of heart failure and grangrene at his home. Thanks for the input though. To all who sent links for photos, thanks for the links I will hopefully find some photos of No. 9 Trinity Terrace. Sandra: Good thought but John's wife lived with their daughter and son in law in Hendon from the 1860's onward until she died. My elderly uncle remembers his uncle going from Australia to England to visit her and to tell her that her son (my G Grandfather) had died. There was no mention at all of John Matthias and none of the family admitted to knowing what had happened to him. I apologise for my spelling mistake and will make sure that I type WIGHT instead of wRight from now on. Another question, if you all don't mind. Where would John Matthias have been buried?
