Case against Mary discharged and others committed to quarter sessions Frances CARNEY ( CORNEY ?) assault on Jane JONES at Ventnor by throwing dirty water over her after provocation, fined 6d 7s costs Francis CASS fined 7s and 6d for inciting George DOWNER to resist arrest and in default was committed for 14 days 23 October 1852 William FLOOD of West COwes , neglecting to provide for his wife and family who are now chargeable to poor 1m in prison Fred and Wm SAUNDERS convicted of stealing nets and gins, 2/ 2s 6d or 28 days in prison Rosina CRIBB assault on Amelia BASIN, the Bench not being able to decide which was most at fault , fined them both and split court costs John MITCHELL, a Militia Volunteer, having neglected for nearly a year , to comply with the order of the Bench tpo pay 1s 6d a week to Ann PEACK ( PEACH?) towards the support of an illeg child. 3 months in prison John MATTHEWS, to apear at Quarter Sessions charged with theft of a pillow , 2 months in prison at Winchester Charlotte NEWBERRY, breaking drinking mugs and the windows at the tap of the Anchor Bewery , ordered to pay damages 6s and fined 6s and costs Angela Never try to teach a pig to sing; it wastes your time and it annoys the pig.
