    3. I have access to the newspaper site for another two week's ( don't ask , I could tell you but would have to kill you - wink) so if anyone has SPECIFIC look ups email me off list and I will see what I can do. I have a few more snippets to post next week when I get more organised. Re Munt . I have been looking at my files and would like to know if anyone has researched them extensively ? I would like to know if Robert Munt & Jane Hodgins who had a children born in Niton 1697 + were related at all to the family of Richard Munt and Martha Barnes who married in Thorley. Richard being of Shorwell b 1684. I would like to merge my two files if they are connected. Finally does anyone have MUNTS in Northwood ? 1750+. I have a Sarah with no recorded bap born Northwood 1758. Curious to know how many other MUNT families were circulating in Cowes area. Angela in Oz Never try to teach a pig to sing; it wastes your time and it annoys the pig. All mail scanned with AVAST 2008 No trees were killed in the sending of this message, but a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced

    3. Angela, I have Robert MUNT, b. 1656 and his wife Jane HODGKINS b. 1690 as possible parents of Richard MUNT b. Shorewell, 1684. Richard MUNT leased a Salthouse or cottage in 1714 and died in Calbourne in 1734. He married Martha BARNES in 1714. I also have a Sarah MUNT born 1758, Northwood who died on 6 Oct 1788, age 30 years. Sarah was the first wife of John Whillier/Wheeler, b. 1758, Shalfleet. John Whillier/Wheeler and Sarah MUNT were married 28 Sept. 1779 in Northwood. Eleanor/Ellen/Helena MUNT b. 1763, Newtown near Calbourne was the second wife of John WHILLIER/WHEELER and may have been a younger sister to Sarah. Eleanor and Sarah's parents may have been John MUNT, 1717, b. Calbourne and Mary BARNES, b. 1720, Shalfleet but there was also an earlier Eleanor born to the same parents in 1757 in Calbourne, Shalfleet. Sorry this is so indefinite but it's some time since I looked at the MUNT family and there may be some new information around. I'll have another look at it all and try to sort it out as Eleanor MUNT was my GGGG Grandmother..
