Hi Estelle Well as a starting point you could look at the IOW Family History Society website as they have all the Birthsd Marriages and Deaths on the island in a searchable database http://www.isle-of-wight-fhs.co.uk/bmd/start.htm I can see your brother's birth registered Eddie Erik ERIKSSON for 1951. My parents (Erik & Katri) arrived in England at the Isle of Wight about 1949/50 on a private ketch called "Estelle" (poss.abt.45ft). I was abt one yr old and there was one other family on this boat with 3 daughters (Karita (3 yrs), Bertel (17yrs), and Berrit (18yrs). One of the daughters married a fellow by the name of "Charlie" on the Isle of Wight. We stayed in Newport (where my brother was born), at Pan Farm (family name BARTON) until 1952. I'm looking for any information anyone might have on a Joanna Barton (born in 1940's) and also on what happened to the "Estelle". I was told it was sold to a dentist on the Isle of Wight (where would I start to look?? :-0::). As you can see, I don't have too much to go on! Any ideas or assistance to get me in the right search direction would be appreciated! Thanks so much; Estelle (Eriksson) Whittaker Deep River, Ontario Canada ************************************** You can contact the Isle of Wight List Administrator by emailing: [email protected] ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
