Well what else can one do on those long winter evenings when the family is already too big, candles are too feeble to read by and Marconi has yet to start his Isle of Wight experiments with the radio? So, there remain two obvious choices, off to the pub whilst the wife suckles the babies or along to the temperance hall if the children are independent and the wife wants to come too!
