I am sending this email in response to Keith's offer of help. I am researching a number of Isle of Wight families, in particular, Harry Morgan SHAW, born about 1815, who was living either in Lymington or the Isle of Wight in the early 1840's. He was a jeweller. He married Mary Ann WAY, born about 1818, in 1840. She was the daughter of David WAY, born 1792 and Hannah ?. In the 1851 census Mary Ann is living with her parents at Calbourne Mill, with her son Sydney David SHAW. There is no sign of Harry Morgan at all. Sydney David was actually born in 1847 in Westerham in Kent, apparently the son of a Henry SHAWE and Mary Ann SHAWE (nee WAY) where Henry was a grocer. Harry Morgan was the illegitimate son of Thomas SHAW and Mary MORGAN. Any further information regarding Harry Morgan SHAW would be very welcome, plus the surname of Mary Ann's mother. All I have is that David WAY married a Hannah ? in 1818. Thanks for any help you could let me have.
