Hello Everyone. I am just about ready to move my research on to the next level and am looking at Register transcription CDs to buy. On Parish Chest I see there are Hackmans Transcripts and Phillimore Marriages. I would welcome any comments or advice as to the most appropriate transcriptions to purchase before I commit myself. Many Thanks Steve Harrison (researching Hollises)
I have the Hackman CD (vol HAM 16 - HAM 20) and the Phillimore Marrriages CD for Hampshire. I didn't really learn anything new from them - they simply confirmed information I had already found at familysearch.org. The Hackman CD has quite a limited time-frame (mostly 1780-1812). Is there a particular name you are looking for? I could have a quick look. One of them is indexed - I can't remember which one, but I could have a quick peek at that for you. Though I am not offering to trawl through the un-indexed one!
