http://www.customscowes.co.uk/o_to_z.htm gives William Robey (Riding Officer) as first date: 11 April 1787 (Admitted) last date: 18 March 1823 The card index in Newport Record Office indicates this was probably William Robey, base-born son of Ann Miles, born Jan 1761, baptised Newport 10 Jan 1772. (I think his father was probably William Robey, son of Matthew, that was baptised Newport 5 Aug 1739 and died between 1751 and 1779.)
