    3. Have you seen Henry's marriage certificate, Ros? It would be interesting to see the name of his father on that. Elizabeth CASS who married James GUY was daughter of Thomas CASS, labourer. Witnesses to the marriage were William CASS and Ann CASS. I also have a few MURSELLs who married into the LOVE family of in and around Bembridge. It would be great to progress my research on the CASS family! So, I have him born abt 1787 Arreton, married to Harriet(?) with 3 children (in 1851 at St Helens) Maria b.1827, James b.1831 & Hannah b.1842 all born in Brading. James married Mary NEW 1856 at All Saints, Newchurch and they had James Henry who was registered with surname NEW (no father listed) b. Godshill 1856, Elizabeth b. Brading 1858, Hannah Maria (1861-1869), Benjamin William b. 1863 Brading & Mary Jane b. 1868 Brading. James Henry married Elizabeth Charlotte MURSSELL WHITE in 1885 at St Boniface, Bonchurch and they had 6 lovely girls all of whom can be found on the IOW FHS BMD website. Elizabeth - no further info as yet. Benjamin William, as has been mentioned married Emma Elizabeth HARVEY 1889 at All Saints, Ryde and had Frank James Henry b. 1890, Selina May 1892, George 1895 (who is listed as "blind from birth" on 1901 census), Katherine 1897 & Florence 1899. They were living in Green St Ashey in 1901. I think Mary Jane married Harry J Smith in 1885 at St Paul, Gatten but I haven't followed that one up yet. This has been pieced together from the IOW FHS BMD and Ancestry so if anyone wants to check or correct please feel free to do so and I can forward census forms, if you wish, off list. I haven't found the GUY connection yet but I will have a good look at Elizabeth again tomorrow. I hope this will be of help to someone although it doesn't get us any further back unfortunately. Best wishes ............ Ros - from chilly Melbourne.
