    3. April There are probably 10 children listed between 1888 and 1904, 4 of whom died young according to the IWFHS BMD (assuming all Scovells with Morris as MMS are connected). If you know for certain there were 11 I would suggest you consider that the first child was born before 1888 and registered with the surname Morris. I don't think just because they stopped having children after 1904 you should assume they moved away. After 11 children perhaps they just decided enough was enough :-) Considering the first 4 children apparently died young I am surprised that they went on to have another healthy 6 children. The odd thing is that I can't find any marriages or deaths for these 6, except possibly the youngest Percival Henry who may have married in 1925. A Clara Ann Scovell died 1941 aged 72 on IW A Frank Scovell died 1960 aged 92 Can't confirm that these are your Frank and Clara but worth checking out I would also suggest that your assumption that Clara and Frank were married in a Register Office is questionable. More likely in a Non-Conformist Church. If it was a Register Office wedding (unlikely in the 1880s) then it would have been in Newport, AFAIK there have never been any others on the Island. Hope that helps Jon Baker -----Original Message----- From: isle-of-wight-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:isle-of-wight-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of April Sent: 18 November 2009 19:40 To: isle-of-wight@rootsweb.com Subject: [IoW] SCOVELL Thank you Eve for that help. 3. April Thanks to Bob mentioning the family in the earlier censuses, the name of the 11th child appears to be Dora, shown as aged 1 in 1891 and 12 in 1901. This is almost certainly Dora Constance May Morris (no MMS recorded in IWBMD index). GRO index gives birth as Apr-Jun Qtr 1889, whereas Clara Ann Morris and Frank Scovell married Oct-Dec Qtr 1889. As I suspected.
