April, There is a fellow who is researching this family and has submitted a tree to Ancestry. He states that John Scovell (1842-?) was married to Fanny Brett (1854-1891) in 1872 at Shalfleet, IOW and they had 9 children; all born on the Isle of Wight. Dora Scovall was born 25 Dec 1889 according to his records. In his records Dora Elizabeth Scovell was married to Godfrey Carew Hawker on February 3, 1915 at Rotherfield, Peppard, England. This couple had at least four sons according to this record. The only one named was Robin Phillips Hawker, born 5 Sep 1924 in Mornington, Victoria, Australia. Also, according to this record Godfrey Carew Hawker died in 1979 in Camberwell, Victoria, Australia. He also indicates that Dora died in the same place but does not have a date. Whether she worked on the boats, or was with a family, I do not know for sure. But that is where it ends for the moment. I wonder if there is anyone else researching the Scovells of Niton. It was there that Dora's parents Clara nee Morris, ran the Puckaster Dairy and where Dora is last known as she gives Niton as her place of Residence on the passenger lists, 1910 and 1913. I have found a Dora Scovell married to Geoffrey Hawker and with two children, Derek and Prue, over there. But then the information stops, unless I subscribe to Ancestry. Needless to say------ Hopefully, someone will recognise this information.
