If you search FreeBMD (www.freebmd.org.uk ) - HIRTER: It gives you the marriage of Hans & Mildred, the births of their 5 children (including Vera who died within a few months of being born) and the marriages of 2 of the children. Johann HIRTER (aged 85), death registered June 1/4 1960 Chanctonbury District, Sussex Mildred HIRTER (aged 80), death registered March 1/4 1965 Chanctonbury District, Sussex Mildred MANTELL is on both the 1891 & 1901 census' with her parents Erastmus & Elizabeth and her 5 siblings (including her half brother George Henry REED). Erastus MANTELL is on 1851 census with his parents Benjamin & Ann and siblings in Fairlight, Sussex. In 1871 he is an Ordinary Seaman at sea aboard HMS Crocodile. In 1881 he is a General Labouerer with his wife Elizabeth and 4 children in Brading, IoW. Benjamin MANTELL is on 1841 & 1851 census with Ann and 3 children in Fairlight, Sussex. They are on 1871 census with their daughter Ellen (CARTER) in Alverstoke, Hants Ann is still with Ellen in 1881, but is a widow.
