    3. I was wondering if someone could help with some divorce records I recently requested from Her Majesty's Courts Service (UK) and received in the post today. I requested the divorce records for one of my ancestors. The date of the divorce was 1953 and I received the 'Certificate of making Decree Nisi Absolute (Divorce) and another one page document that listed the parties to the divorce and the reason for the divorce (in this case adultery). I have two questions: Is there likely to be additional papers that I can request - the documents mention that evidence was taken in support of the petition? I am particularly interested in the division of the property and what provision was made for the child of the marriage. The paragraph relating to the children of the marriage is crossed out and there is not another paragraph substituted. Were divorces in the 1950s notified in the newspapers? Thanks Claire (Canberra, Australia)
