    3. Hi Daphne According to Ancestry and cross-checking with the LDS Library, one of the records is correct: Name: John Woodford Gender: Male Christening Date: 21 Oct 1703 Christening Place: Brixton, Hampshire, England Father's Name: John Woodford This has come from the Parish Registers/Bishops Transcripts, thus much more reliable than the 2 entries you find in the IGI, both of which are patron submissions. I was also suspicious when the IGI entry showed the place as Brighstone. Almost always records would have shown the parish as Brixton, rather than Brighstone in the early 1700s. It may be worth checking the marriage on 27 Oct 1702 at Brixton of John Woodford and Joane Lord. Could well be the parents of John (1703). There is also a christening for Betty in 1704. Goodness knows who Heighes Woodforde and Mary Lamport are :-) Jon Baker Dorset OPC Co-ordinator www.opcdorset.org -----Original Message----- I wonder if I can ask for help in connection with a baptism entry On the I.G.I. (I know not reliable) there is an entry as shown John Woodforde baptised 21st October 1703 Brighston Father Heighes Woodforde Mother Mary Lamport There is also John Woodford baptised 21st October 1703 Brighston Father John Woodford
