    3. Hi, At the burial of my great-uncle Cass John WOODFORD, one of the mourners was N. PLUMBLEY - listed as a nephew. I would be interested to find out more of this connection as I have no record of a Plumbley link. Terence

    3. Terence Where and when was the burial that you refer to? Don't be too surprised if this turns into a false trail, certainly when I was a nipper on the Island there were many people I referred to as Uncle or Auntie or Cousin, many of which were not (knowingly) related at all. 3. Hello Jon, With regard to Terence's Uncle's burial, it was on the Island in 1927. I found a link for him - Cass J WOODFORD married Janet HILL in 1912 on IOW Maud Lilian HILL married Harry PLUMBLEY on 30 October 1907 at Whitwell on IOW. I'm assuming that these ladies were sisters, however I haven't found a child to the PLUMBLEY / HILL marriage which would match N PLUMBLEY as being Cass' nephew. I too have adults that as a child I referred to as Aunt / Uncle, but am not related to them - I believe it was a mark of respect.
