History loving homeowners in Broadstairs are being offered to have an archeological dig in their back garden. The Thanet Archeological Society wants to to dig test squares in as many houses as possible in the chessboard estate area of Broadstairs. The loaction is being targeted after a ROMAN BAKERY was discovered in Bishop's Avenue two years ago. The Society wants to dig one metre square test holes and the first one was completed at the home of Janine and Bob Brown in Bishop's Avenue last month. Marilyn Bishop from the society said "The information gathered is very valuable and all adds to the research being conducted in the North Foreland area. "The society members are assisted by the Professional archeologists of the Thanet Trust for Archeology who give up their time to help with the digs identifying finds".
