I was reading about the origin of the name Setterfield on the Internet yesterday and it says the name originated from Satterthwaite in the Lake District from the Old English 'saetr' shieling plus old Norse 'pveit' pasture. Variations are Satterfitt and Setterfield. Does anyone have any idea if and when the IOT Setterfields migrated from the Lake District and why? Chris
