Hi Suzannah and any other listers who can help. I may be having a senior moment here but I ended up at a rootsweb page listing marriages of people in Kent with surnames beginning with the letter S. There wasn't any other information on the page, no place to click to return to the home page. The page in question is at http://www.rootsweb.com/~engken/sm.txt Can anyone tell me how I can access the other letters of the alphabet. There's probably an easy explanation, but it's got me confused. Laurie Bridger.
Hi Laurie In your address field, delete 'sm.txt' This is quite a useful thing to know if you get links that no longer appear to work - usually deleting back to a forward slash often does the trick. cheers Andy ----- Original Message ----- From: "LAWRENCE BRIDGER" <laurie.bridger@btinternet.com> To: "Suzannah Foad" <suzannah.foad@btopenworld.com>; <isle-of-thanet@rootsweb.com>; <isle-of-thanet-l@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, October 30, 2006 11:11 AM Subject: [ISLE-OF-THANET] Accessing Rootsweb pages > Hi Suzannah and any other listers who can help. > > I may be having a senior moment here but I ended up at > a rootsweb page listing marriages of people in Kent > with surnames beginning with the letter S. Hi Andy, Sorry to be a pain, but I have already tried what you suggested and ended up at the main Rootsweb page, but I couldnt find where I can get connected to the other pages that obviously exist along with the one I accessed. Can you suggest any other avenues to try? Thanks for your speedy reply anyway. Laurie Bridger
Hi, Suggest go to http://www.rootsweb.com/~engken/ and ask Peggy the Coordinator if she can assist. You have opened a text file which is obviously opened by one of the sites on the above URL, look at Deal Freeman, but I can't find anything to match. Hi, Just found the easy way Replace the s in the sm.txt with the letter of the alphabet you want. Just used http://www.rootsweb.com/~engken/am.txt and all the a marriages are shown.
