    3. Hi again Linda ;o) Yes, this is 'my' James. He married Esther Jarman 12 Oct 1830 at St. John's, Margate. I have a total of 12 children from this marriage. William's sister Hannah - 28 July/16 Oct 1848 - was my great-great-grandmother. James's parents most likely are James W(h)ales and Elisabeth Fowler (dau. of Robert Fowler and Mary Kebble?), although I do have some doubts about that. Usually the custom was to name the first son after the wife's father, but I haven't found a son named Robert yet. Different sources say James was either born in Northdown or St. Peters. Unfortunately I can't seem to find any online baptisms records for that parish. I did find a James son of james Whales and Elisabeth on Family Search, baptised 13 march 1796 that would be a good match. But again, somebody would have to look into the actual records to be certain. If you want more information on James and Esther and their children just let me know. Somebody very kind and very fanatic about research (we both know who we are talking about, name starts with an S and ends with uzannah ;o) sent me loads of info! Warm regards, Kya Linda Wales <cleavefarm@btinternet.com> wrote: Hello Saskia, I have some bits of information on James W(h)ales, and I just wanted to confirm that it was your James! James W(h)ales died 27th May 1882, at the Alexandria Homes. Deeply regretted. This was an obit in one of the papers, but I stupidly didnot make a note of which one, as at the time I did not have any connection with a James. Parish records at Holy Trinity Margate: William Wales, born 28th April 1843, baptised 4th June to James (labourer of Northdown) and Esther. Where do you get James birthdate from? Any ideas on his parents yet? Regards, Linda --------------------------------- Yahoo! Messenger with Voice. PC-to-Phone calls for ridiculously low rates.
