Hi Thanet listers With my ancestors from Thanet, Stourmouth and later St Peters, I research Austens of Thanet and Kent and have a number of families which probably connect. One family which I have presumed to be connected is an Abraham John Austen who married Sarah Fox in the late 1850s. I have descendants and am looking to connect with someone who may be related. Names include LUCK, FOX, Margaret LAWRENCE, Elizabeth SCOTT, Edith MIDDLE. Brian Austen Austen Families, histories and research. www.trump.net.au/~austen/austenhist.htm
Brian, I have a 5th g-grandmother Sarah FOX who was b. 1736 in Margate and married William BUSHEL (or BUSHELL) on 18 April 1762. Unlikely to be connected with yours, but your might want the info in case a connection turns up later. Hi Susannah Many thanks for your reply, that is the family I found in the IGI files and was hoping some one was still in or around the area that had some knowledge of the family. We have this huge brick wall up as to where our Robert was born, have even had DNA tests done, but still not leading us any where. Will try the 1841 census.
