Suzannah, As you know I have an interest in all things BUSHELL around that date - how would you suggest I try and find a Christian name for Capt. Bushell? I am particularly thinking of my 3rd g-grandfather John BUSHELL b. 1796, known in the family as "Captain John", & son of William BUSHELL b.1764 that you already know about. I haven't really started looking at John yet and just have dates & census information; I'm just collecting my thoughts and deciding where to focus my research. His sister, who was sitting beside him, very narrowly escaped the same fate, but was saved but Captain BUSHELL, who flew from the helm and succeeded in catching hold of her dress, and by that means saved her. The body of the gentleman has not yet been found. The Captain deemed it prudent to return to Ramsgate. The name of the Gentleman was Mr Charles Smith of London, aged about 23 years - Kent Herald -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
