Does anyone have BATHO? Would appreciate help to identify the parents of siblings Sarah, William and Mary BATHO - probably born about 1640/50s? Here is what I know. William BATHO's will of 1678 says he is a "maulster" of the parish of St John ye Baptist, Thanet & names: 1. his sister Sarah PEAKE now wife of Daniel PEAKE to get 5 pounds & released from debt of 40 shillings she owes him 2. brother-in-law William COPPIN to get 4 pounds 10s which her [sic] now owes me 3. loving wife Sarah BATHO (sole executrix) to get all the rest Witnesses John READE, Thomas BAKER, Joseph MACKRITH Will proved 1680 by widow Sara BATHO. Vicar General's Marriage License of 20 Feb 1677 William BATHO of 'St. Margaret in the Isle of Thanet', Kent, (maltster), b., 27, and Sarah BARKER of the same, wid., 30, in St. Mary at Hill, London. ie gives him a date of birth about 1650. Mary BARTHOE & William COPPIN married 1672 at St Geo, Canterbury ie Mary is the sister unnamed in William's will. Sarah BATHO (in IGI as BANTHO) married Daniel PEAKE in St Lawrence 10 Sept 1668 (no licence found). IGI (Batch 8501031) has a Sarah BATHO daughter of John and Sarah christened at St Mary, Minster on Thanet in 05 OCT1646 also John BATHO son of John & Sara christened 11 June 1643. Presumably children of Johannes BATHO & Sarah COFFAM married Nov 29, 1640 at Minster (IGI Batch 8581032) IGI (Batch 8501031) has a William BATHO christened 18 SEP 1650 at Minster but with father Benjamin BATHO. Were there really two BATHO men John & Benjamin both having children at same time? or is the Benjamin a misrecord or mistranscribe? If anyone has access to Minster records, I'd appreciate an assessment of what register actually says please & are there any burials/marriages for BATHO ?
