I grew up in St. Nicholas, just down the road from Sarre. My father recalls this was due to a bomb dropped in the vicinity, possibly where there is actually to this day a large "crater" just off the roadside, housing some corrugated iron huts. But he could be wrong. There is a possibility that these individals are related to my father's friend, known as "Bub" CHRISTIAN, but I have not researched this.
