    2. >From Birmingham Daily Post, Saturday, February 3, 1877; Issue 5794 The driver of the down goods train from London to Ramsgate, named BURLIN(G)SON, lost his life at Birchingford ( probably meant to be Birchington) Station, on Thursday. He attempted to alight before stopping the train, and fell between the tender and a truck, being killed in an instant. NOT connected to our research, but this is probably his death reference from FreeBMD. Death : John BURLINSON aged 28 Thanet 2a 518 March Qtr. 1877.

John's three children Alfred Edward Burlinson, Ellen Mary Ann Burlinson and John William Burlinson, were baptised at St John's Margate a few weeks after his death on 16 February 1877 Parents John and Ellen, John being a Retired Engine Driver of  3 Westbrook Cottages Margate   John Burlinson married Ellen Lovett  5th April 1874  St John's Margate Age 24  22   Profession Engine Driver L C & D Railway ?   Father William Burlinson  William Lovett   Fathers Profession Boiler Smith  Publican   Witnesses George Cain &   Elizabeth Winch   Widowed Ellen went to stay with a second cousin and the sons were sent to live with other family members. One son John followed in his fathers footsteps working for the Railways!
