Hi Don Sadly, with not having access to Margate Museum where I was able to look these things up on a regular basis, I have had to calm down on offering these look ups. I still of course use Margate Library for my own research but not been in there this month as I am working on something related to my own tree out of Thanet. I will jot in into my notebook but cannot tell you when I shall be able to pop into the Library. Sorry I cannot help as of yet! Are you able to trace trace a local newspaper report of this event which I believe was carried out in atrocious conditions . I would appreciate confirmation of this incident. I have been to understand that the lifeboat was holed and had to be towed into Dover and some of the crew were frozen to their seats.
