Hi, I am working on some on my Young family. John Young was my 1st cousin 5 x removed, he was born in 1774 and his son George was born in abt. 1819. They are listed living together in the 1861 census at Bishop Stone Farm, Reculver. Both were farm servants on the property. Does this farm still exist? Where exactly is it located? Any other history about this place? The only information I have been able to find is that it once belonged to Henry Cobb in the 1600 before emigration to USA. All help appreciated and gratefully accepted. ~Elaine **************Can love help you live longer? Find out now. Hi Elaine As its not in Thanet as such I have limited knowledge of Reculver. I am sending you an ordnance survey map 1819-1820 which shows Bishopstone Farm. Then have a look at Google Earth or another satellite website so you can work out the area today. Just a quick look shows that there is no longer a farm, possibly due to the encroachment by the sea but the trackways are quite similar. Good luck Suzannah ________________________________ From: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Saturday, 18 July, 2009 12:16:22 AM Subject: [Isle-of-Thanet] John Young and George Young at Reculver Hi, I am working on some on my Young family.
