    3. Thank you everyone for your input. I am doing this tree for my Brother in law whose mother is 90 in a month or so and it is her line. I have got some way with the Pearson line ( back to the late 1700's) and they are all notable Solicitors based around the St Clement Danes and the Temple in London with pots of money, so the link to a Barrister would be understandable. I am afraid that the fathers name is quite clearly written as Emily!! I got the marriage certificate because I couldn't see a real reason why Thomas and Kate should decide to go down to Kent to get married ( and of course my own line comes from the Thanet area) so I was being nosey as much as anything!! Kate as far as I am aware was born in the Nottinghill area of London/ Middlesex according to the 91 and 1901 Census. There is a slight possibility that Kate may have been pregnant at the time, their first child also called Kate was born in the March quarter of 1888. The witnesses don't seem to give much of a clue, the names are not very clear but appear to be Amy Miller Webb/Ward and Charles Henry Carter. The Webb, if it is Webb, may be a connection to Thomas Pearson as his mother was Ann Riley Webb. The name Ada is good though as it is a name which runs down through the family. I will certainly see if I can contact the poster you mentioned Andy and thank you very much Susannah for trying at the library for me, yes please if you find you have time to check at Canterbury, I would be very grateful Thank you again everyone for your suggestions Best wishes Jackie
