Hi Joan Thanks for your email. I am generally interested in the Legge family as my great grandmother, Elizabeth Ester Mockett Legge born 1836, came from Margate. She had 7 siblings and have connected with 3 of them including some in Australia. I have always been curios as to ne Elizabeth's other names of Mockett which i assume maybe a surname. By the same token her father- was Joseph Sims Legge The family tree seems to go back to circa 1738. I have recently ha a tentative enquiry from Australia regarding a Joseph Sims trying to identify him circa. the late 1700's / 1early 1800's. we are wondering if there is any connection between the 2 family lines. We also understand that John Morday Legge did emigrate to Australia but have no idea when. Our Joseph Sims Legge lived in Hawley Street at the 1841 census. Feel that a link of some kind is possible but do not know what! regards Robert --- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, October 31, 2009 7:00 AM Subject: ISLE-OF-THANET Digest, Vol 4, Issue 238 > > > Today's Topics: > > 1.
