The de Crevecoeurs arrived with Normans. FitzHamon was the son of Hamo de Crevecoeur. Robert de Crevecoeur held Leeds Castle. Some researchers state that de Crevecoeur family died out several centuries after the Norman Conquest. However, the surnames were very fluid and changing during this period, and the male line may have continued. Crequer and Crago are spelling variations of the Crevecoeur surname. Crago surname is said to have been found in Kent during the 16th century.
