Village Wedding IOTG 2nd April 1948 MR W H YOUNG and MISS W A BOLTON Miss Winifred Agnes BOLTON daughter of Mr and Mrs S BOLTON, of Whit-Ness St Nicholas was married at St Nicholas parish Church on Monday to Mr William Henry YOUNG son of the late Mr YOUNG and Mrs HILLMAN, of Norfolk Road, Tunbridge Wells. The choral service was conducted by the Vicar (the Rev P J Helver) and the organist (Miss G GORE) played Mendelssohn’s "Wedding March”. The bride who was given away by her father, wore a full length gown of moss crepe with a veil and headdress of orange blossom. She carried a prayer book and orange blossom trail. The bridesmaids, Miss Ivy BOLTON, (sister) and little Hazel BRIDGES, wore pink and blue respectively and the matron of honour, Mrs P WEST (sister) was dressed n a powered blur costume. The best man was Mr R LEE. A reception was held at the Village Hall where about 60 guests were entertained. Mr and Mrs YOUNG later left for their honeymoon at Brighton. Margate Local & Family History
