GUIDES GUARD OF HONOUR Birchington Bride Isle of Thanet Gazette 2nd April 1948 Girl Guides and Rangers formed a guard of honour at All Saints Church Birchington on Easter Monday, for the wedding of Miss Elsie May FAGG, daughter of Mr A FAGG and the late Mrs FAGG of 2 Quex Villas, Quex View Road, Birchington and Mr Roy Albert John FINCH, son of Mr and Mrs W FINCH of 1 Manston Court Cottages, Manston. The bride was formerly a Ranger. The Vicar (the Rev N M Granville Sharp) officiated and Mr W BOURN, (cousin of the Bridegroom) was best man. The bride, who was given away by Mr J FAGG, (brother) was attired in a royal blue dress, and carried a bouquet of mauve and while tulips. She was attended by her two sisters, Mrs D TAVINER and Mrs W E CHAMNEYS who wore pink dresses and carried posies of anemones. After the ceremony about 70 guest attended a reception at the Church House, and later Mr and Mrs FINCH left for their honeymoon in Brighton. Margate Local & Family History
