Died in South Africa - Isle of Thanet Gazette 31st December 1948 A Native of Margate, Mr Thomas JONES, son of Mr and Mrs L F JONES, of 4 Market Street, died at Cape Town, South Africa, on 19th December. He was 41 years of age. After leaving Holy Trinity School, Margate, Mr JONES was apprenticed to a local printing firm and remained there until leaving for South Africa in 1939. He was one of the founders of the Margate Motor Cycle Club which later became the Thanet Motoring Club. During the war her served in the South African Home Guard. He leaves a widow and one daughter.
