REMARKABLE LONGEVITY IN A FAMILY Keble's Gazette 15th July 1893 At the burial of Mrs Martha Solly EDWARDS, who died on July 5th at the advanced age of 90 years - in the Zion Chapel Cemetery on Wednesday, a curious instance of longevity in a family was brought to notice. The head stone of the grave in which the remains were interred bore three inscriptions. The first was that recording the death on May 2nd 1868 of Elizabeth GARDENER, mother of Mrs EDWARDS at the age of 95. The next was that of her daughter, Sophia DALE, who died on September 15th 1875 aged 82 years and the other that of the husband of the last named, Edward Chapman DALE, who was 87 at the time of his death on March 3rd 1886. Thus the united ages of the mother and two daughters amounted to no less than 267 years and if the age of Mrs DALE's husband was added, the total span of life in the family circle of four was 354 years.
