Print artist Dawn Cole has turned to history for her latest project, inspired by her great aunt, Clarice SPRATLING. Clarice was a nurse during the First World War and at Ramsgate Custom House. Dawn, from Birchington, presents Reading between the Lines based on her relatives belongings and writings. She say "Clarice SPRATLING came from a wealthy family whose associations with Thanet can be traced back to the 13th century and whose family ancestry included the notorious Adam SPRATLING, former owner of the Ellington Park Estate, who murdered his wife in 1652 and was tried and hanged at Sandwich in 1653". Dawn presents a talk about her great aunt this Friday 24th at 11,30am. It will be followed by a question and answer session. Margate Local & Family History
