Mr. Edward James MAHER-SMITH, of New Cavendish-street, W., and Waveley, Cliftonville, Kent, formerly of Sarawak, who died on October 28, has left property of the value of £18,334. Subject to a legacy of £100, the testator leaves everything in trust for his wife for life and then to his children, failing whom:- £2,000 to the Boustead Institute for Seamen, Singapore, £2,000 to the Straits Settlements Benevolent Society, £2,000 to the Swansea General and Eye Hospital, £1,000 to Guy's Hospital, £1,000 to the National Lifeboat Institution, and one-fourth of the residue each to the three first-named institutions, and one-eight each to the two latter.
