So he must have trained in Canterbury and came back to Margate where he met Ann and had Samuel. 1871 Census Goodburn Samuel 52 Head Tailor Margate, Kent No 19 Fort Road, Margate St John, Kent Goodburn Mary A 47 Wife Canterbury, Kent No 19 Fort Road, Margate St John, Kent Goodburn Frank 19 Son Plasterer Margate, Kent No 19 Fort Road, Margate St John, Kent Goodburn Laurence 16 Son Gas Fitter Margate, Kent No 19 Fort Road, Margate St John, Kent Goodburn Frances 17 Daughter Dressmaker Margate, Kent No 19 Fort Road, Margate St John, Kent Goodburn Sydney 15 Son Poulterer Margate, Kent No 19 Fort Road, Margate St John, Kent Goodburn Emma 13 Daughter Nurse Margate, Kent No 19 Fort Road, Margate St John, Kent 1881 Goodburn Samuel 61 Head Journeyman Tailor Margate, Kent 19 Fort Road, Margate St John The Baptst, Kent Goodburn Lawrence J 26 Son Policeman Margate, Kent 19 Fort Road, Margate St John The Baptst, Kent Goodburn Emma J 23 Daughter General Servant Margate, Kent 19 Fort Road, Margate St John The Baptst, Kent Deaths Sep 1886 Goodbun Samuel 66 Thanet 2a 519 Not sure of Samuel Jnr's birth date but you can work it out from the certificate till the time it took Samuel Senior to marry Mary Ann Cockett on 8th April 1850 at St John's Margate. His father being recorded as William Goodburn, Porter. This lead me to find his baptism 21st Nov 1819 at St Johns to William and Elizabeth Goodburn.
