To echo everyone else Barry will be missed and without his hard work I never would have found out all that I have, my sympathy goes to his family and friends. Regards Joan
Thanks for letting us know Queenie. He is and will be missed. I don't think he would mind his pages being kept going and it seems to me from what I said before that he may not want anyone trying to contact his relatives but does anyone think we should try to contact his next of kin to check they don't mind his pages being kept going? Perhaps you know about this Queenie? Laurence van Kleek
Nigel, Many thanks for your hard work. Roger M Evans

Thanks very much for this Nigel. I think many of us miss Barry and his wonderful pages and wonder what happened to him and hope he is well. I exchanged mails with him a few years ago and suggested liaising to produce the very pages which he then whistled up tout suite - he must have already been working on them which perhaps gave him some amusement. I asked if he wanted to mail privately to look at other things but he said that he had had some unfortunate experiences with some folks through the www, without saying exactly what, so it was a real shame that he had had such experience[s]. A couple of years back some other listers asked what had happened to his pages and someone wrote in to point out that they could be retrieved by looking in the cached link - I am not sure this is still possible but I expect it is. However, your links may be the best. Well done and thank you. They are extremely helpful and probably for many of us pages to return to over and over again as one's research progresses. If anyone knows how Barry is and does not feel that it would infringe his privacy I am sure many of us would love to know. Thanks so much Nigel. I had this site marked in an archive format, but this is so much easier to access. Hi Jan Been following this link, not in fact related to the GOODBURN family, but in answer to your question about where to find the Burial Registers for Ramsgate Cemetery, you can find them at Ramsgate Library, and also at the Margate Crematorium, but i think you have to phone Ramsgate Library first to book a reader. Also if you phone the Crematorium at Margate they are very helpful there and might be able to tell you over the phone or you can e mail your enquiry and they will get back to you. The GRO Deaths say that Arthur E. GOODBOURN died in the Rye District. Therefore, Northiam on the Kent/Sussex border must have been the place of death.
