Hi Michelle, One possible source would be the Gas Industry Genealogical Index compiled by Terry Mitchell and David Loverseed, which is available on microfiche at a few libraries and record offices. Failing that the compilers do provide a paid for search service, but note that the index is not complete. Hi gordon I had 5 minutes to spare and looked up Your Elizabeth and Edward on Ancestry.com There is a Family tree on line belonging to a 'Parkinson' that has this family but shows nothing except the marriage as ABT 1825 in St Martin in the Fields London Middlesex. It only list their Daughter Elizabeth born 2 Jun 1827 in Battersea Fields London and her Death as Raywood, Victoria Australia 11th Feb 1891 Her Marriage to John Godier 25 Dec 1845 in St Martin in the Fields London It Shows their 13 Children the first 4 being born in Stepney London and all of the rest from 1854 onwards being born in Australia. (i assume you have this information?) I also found an 1841 Census return (with an Elizabeth West Married to Edward west of the right age) Living in Erith Kent (quite close to London) It shows three Children George Elizabeth and James. If this fits let me know and i will email you a copy.
