In the 1891 she's at 18 Sussex St. I don't know at what point fixed house numbers came into being in Ramsgate, but this could be her. Then in the 1928 Kelly's there's a Mrs SYKES (no initial) at 53 Boundary Rd, Ramsgate. SYKES being a common name, this may not be her. I can't see a marriage licence listed in Cowper for William SAMPSON's marriage to Amity. Can anyone help with where or when the marriage happened? William SAMPSON seems likely to be christened 10 DEC 1671 at Saint John In Thanet, ie the son of William SAMPSON & Martha (nee WHITE) who married at St Andrews Canterbury by license 20 April 1670. Does anyone know what happened to William SAMPSON (born 1671) after Amity's death in 1696? Perhaps his job involved travelling to various clients/custormers thus him having to take lodgings on occasion? He can be found on Ancestry to but Ancestry's transcription of his name leaves a lot to be desired .... He is listed as ARY STEVENS SYLVES !! Either search for this name or use the 1891 search facility on Ancestry for piece 749 folio 72 page 48. either method should find him. BTW wife Rachel and family are in Ramsgate in 1891.
