    3. Hi Lisa Jubilee Terrace was on Eaton/Belgrave Road, the West side, so on your left is your looking towards the sea. I am guessing here that you know Margate? The houses were built 1875 an before the terrace and Belgrave Road were built, you could see right across Dreamland, which was Sanger's Zoological gardens at the time. I have a map I can send showing the location on Jubilee Terrace and number 4. Its now numbered 39 Belgrave Road and still standing.   William GRANT was the first recorded Coxswain of the Margate Lifeboat, he served in that capacity for 17 years (1863-1880). On 24th November 1877 the Lifeboat Quiver went to the rescue of 15 people on the Barque Hero and 7 people from the Brig Louisa, during a strong gale which increased to hurricane force with heavy rain, sleet and high seas. All the crew suffered severely from exposure in rendering these services and William GRANT was awarded the Institutions Silver Medal.   Margate Lifeboat house has many wooden plaques, pictures etc, its free to view all year round.   Suzannah ----- Original Message ---- From: Lisa Pittock <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Monday, 2 November, 2009 5:24:09 PM Subject: [Isle-of-Thanet] Jubilee terrace Hi Could anyone help me with locating an address please. Also, my great great grandfather (William Grant) was coxswain of Margate Lifeboat. I have some information about him, including a photo of him in his cork lifejacket. I wasn't too sure about the newer part as these people died, some within the last few months so did not wish to upset anyone by publishing them on the Internet. Anyhoo, I know exacty which part of the cemetery you mean. There were two graves over there which we very much overgrown so did not photograph these. It is the one family grave I had overlooked when I went there - but was very pleased to have found my great-grandparents, Joseph and Annie BALDOCK; so near the path, and we would have walked by it some many times when I was younger whilst visiting my FAGG relatives' graves further back! Even my father did not know! 3. I grew up in St. Nicholas, just down the road from Sarre. My father recalls this was due to a bomb dropped in the vicinity, possibly where there is actually to this day a large "crater" just off the roadside, housing some corrugated iron huts. But he could be wrong. There is a possibility that these individals are related to my father's friend, known as "Bub" CHRISTIAN, but I have not researched this.
