    3. My g/g/grandfather was James Pettit Clark/e the son of Daniel Clark/e and Jane Hughes he was born 1801 in Birchington, he married Harriet Emptage and had quite a few children including a son he named James Pettit born 1826. My problem is I am trying to find a connection between the Pettit and Clark family and the only one I have so far is a marriage between John Pettit a widower and Mary Clark/e a widow in 1770, does anyone have these two on their tree and if so did they have any children? So as not to waste anyone's time I do have all the census BMD's and certs for James and his family it's the connection that is driving me mad, I also have checked Barry White's site and I have the Birchington CD but can't find anything that sheds a light on this, the name seems to be important as James 1801 included the "Pettit" on all documents. Thank you. Joan

    3. Broadstairs and St Peter's Echo 26th June 1920 Baby's Burial in a Box Sergt.NORRIS of the KCC was warmly commended at an inquest held at the Walmer Castle Hotel, Westgate on Sea on Friday last, upon having brought to light the facts connected with the burial of an unregistered baby in a margarine box at the rear of No 5 Chester Road. The child's grandmother, Mrs R HORN admitted that her two daughters had both had several illegitimate children and said the infant buried in the garden died ten days after birth. After hearing a great deal of unpleasant evidence, the jury returned a verdict of 'found dead' and severely censured the grandmother.  Margate Local & Family History
